 Placed on the most touristic area of Shanghai ''The Bund'' the BarRouge has won several price/award for its vision and perpetual innovation through events and different looks while having the advantage of the best view in the city, we've got the chance this year to not just re-create an interior design, but to give a fresher direction via Whisperism's DNA.

NYX

Whisperism’s will is to create the fusion of two extreme poles, Purist-Urban players & Luxury consumers in both Interior & Fashion, so this project’s area is easy to guess for this outdoor place of 280sq/m in this case.

I've chosen to call it the Nyx after having a certain interest in the Greek mythology, and re-stating the bar rouge place through the terrace as one particular point in the city as much as the Parthenon was for Athens in their respective purpose of course.

Peoples come at BarRouge for the view, the show and the exclusive service that we have mainly emphasized by the size of the bar which has almost tripled-up from 3 years ago.

The tables are key in such places, so i have observed the work done previously and tried to keep the robustness of them and add a certain elegance and an intangibility demonstrate by the inner lighting work that serves for the branding through-out the Corian.

A dominant illumination system done with acrylic sticks surrounds the terrace limits at human sight, plus another lighting effect under all elevated elements, as the bar, the counters, the step giving us Pudong sight and the bottom of each seats, to create a levitating effect.

We've had to be minimalist as possible and functional to guaranty a certain ease for the managing operation.

The other point was to respect our Identity and still representing this particular clientele in Shanghai, the way of doing anything here totally differs from what i knew back in EU, but it gave us another interesting challenge I have to say.

This goes from the selection of materials, colour tons and shapes that are totally irregular by the way, but which follows the service's needs. We can also find some natural elements since it's a UNESCO protected establishment but I won't tell you more, the pictures as well as the venue itself will give you a better sight if you have the luck to visit the city.
